Our Process
Finding the perfect caregiver for your family can feel overwhelming—but it doesn’t have to be! At Pair & Care, we’ve designed a seamless, step-by-step process to take the stress out of hiring while ensuring you get the best match for your family’s unique needs.
-
We’ll start by learning about your family through our comprehensive Family Profile form and a one-on-one consultation. This helps us understand your values, needs, and what makes your family special.
-
We carefully source, screen, and interview candidates based on your criteria. Each candidate undergoes a thorough background check and reference review for your peace of mind.
-
Each candidate undergoes a 12 point screening process in order to make sure you are presented with the highest quality of candidate possible. We evaluate each candidate for their: general experience, passion, discipline, communication, adaptability, risk management, engagement, alignment, and their successful completion of background and reference checks.
-
We’ll present you with top candidates, assist with interviews, and be a sounding board in your decision making process
-
Beyond sourcing candidates, we support you and your nanny through an onboarding experience that will set everyone up for success.
-
After the onboarding, and some time for everyone to settle, we will set up a follow up meeting to check in and see how everything is going!

Twelve-point Recruitment System
Dedication
We look for nannies who bring more than just experience — we seek caregivers who are genuinely passionate about working with children. Our candidates are committed to making childcare a meaningful part of their lives, whether they’ve been in the field for years or are newer with strong potential, we value dedication, warmth, and a long-term mindset.
Engagement
We look for nannies who don’t just supervise — they connect. Whether they’re building blanket forts, leading a dance party, or diving into an imaginative game, our candidates know how to be playful, curious, and fully tuned in. We value caregivers who meet children where they are and create joyful, creative moments that leave kids feeling seen, supported, and truly delighted.
Adaptability
Kids are unpredictable, and the best caregivers stay steady through it all. We prioritize nannies who can calmly manage changes, big emotions, and unexpected moments with flexibility, confidence, and care — while still keeping the day on track. Whether it’s an off-routine nap, a last-minute schedule change, or a full-blown meltdown at the playground, we want nannies who respond with grace, not frustration.
Developmental Awareness
Children’s needs change rapidly across stages of development, and we prioritize nannies who understand this. We assess each candidate’s knowledge of emotional, physical, and cognitive milestones and their ability to tailor care accordingly — from tummy time and teething to toilet training and tween moods. Families can expect caregivers who support the whole child, every step of the way.
Enrichment
Our nannies don’t just supervise — they engage. We value caregivers who feed children’s natural curiosity through books, hands-on activities, nature walks, open-ended questions, and meaningful conversations. We look for nannies who understand how everyday moments can spark a love of learning and discovery.
Communication
Strong communication builds strong partnerships. We look for nannies who proactively share updates, check in regularly, and know how to talk with both children and adults in respectful, thoughtful ways. Whether it’s a quick text or a thoughtful conversation about developmental concerns, we believe that great care includes keeping parents informed, connected, and involved every step of the way.
Dependability
You deserve someone who shows up — not just on time, but fully present and prepared. We seek out nannies who are consistent, trustworthy, and professional, so you can feel confident that your child and your home are in reliable hands every single day. Dependability means being someone a child can count on and a family can trust — especially on the unpredictable days.
Education
We seek nannies who support children’s academic growth at every age and stage. Our candidates reinforce school readiness, classroom skills, and everyday learning — whether that means naming colors, practicing letters, helping with homework, or encouraging confident, independent study habits. We believe learning happens best in nurturing, low-pressure environments where children feel safe to grow.
Household Initiative
A great nanny helps your home feel calmer, not more chaotic. We value caregivers who naturally pitch in — tidying play spaces, prepping lunch, folding laundry — and notice what needs doing without always being asked. We’re not talking about deep cleaning or overextending, but about being a team player who takes pride in keeping the home environment safe, smooth, and supportive for the whole family.
Driving Background Check
If transportation is a part of the role, we verify each candidate’s driving record for safety and reliability. This includes checking for any past violations or accidents, ensuring your child’s safety during outings or school drop-offs.
REference check
Your child’s safety is our highest priority. We conduct comprehensive criminal background checks on all candidates to ensure they have a clear record, giving you peace of mind about who is entering your home and caring for your child.
Background Checks
Your child’s safety is our highest priority. We conduct criminal and sex offender background checks on all candidates to ensure they have a clear record, giving you peace of mind about who is entering your home and caring for your child.
